Electra won BDIS on the 2007 open and Deva won BDIS on the 2007 4H Indiana State Fair and 2007 Hoosier Classic.  Sugar won the BDIS honor in the other ring of the Hoosier Classic.

We would like to thank you for your interest in our herd.  We have a select herd of Purebred Nubians.  The selectiveness of our breeding program helps to provide an elegant, graceful, competitive, and productive dairy animal.

We test annually for CAE, TB, and Brucellosis. The kids are raised on grain and top quality alfalfa hay.  We have participated in the linear appraisal program.  Our last LA we had several animals appraise 90 or above.

With our very hectic lives we don't show as much as we like, but we do make it to the Hoosier Classic and Indiana State Fair each year.  At the 2007 Hoosier Classic, Deva was BDIS in one ring and Sugar was BDIS in the other ring.  Isaac won his class for showmanship.  Then at the 2007 Indiana State Fair, Deva was BDIS in the 4H ring and Electra was BDIS in the open ring.  At the 2006 Hoosier Classic, Deva was BOB, BUOB, BUIS, and BIS; Electra was GCH, BOB, BUOB, and BUIS in the other ring; Sugar was RGCH to Electra.  At the 2004 & 2005 Hoosier Classic we received several GCH and RGCH.  Deva was GCH, BOB, and BUOB Nubian at the Classic.  Rebekah was GCH showman and Isaac was GCH Beginning showman at the 2005 4H Indiana State Fair.  At the 2004 4H and Open Indiana State Fair we had three BDIS.  On the 4H side we had GCH & RGCH Alpine, LaMancha, and Nubian milkers along with BEST DOE IN SHOW.  On the Open side of the state fair with our milkers we received the title of GCH LaMancha and BEST DOE IN SHOW along with GCH Alpine milker and Premier breeder of the Alpine breed. At the 2006 ADGA Nationals we had first place Dam and Daughter Nubian and Deva was third with second udder in the 5 & 6 year old class, while Denise was 4th in the aged doe class.  At the 2004 ADGA Nationals we had first place Dam and Daughter Nubian and three animals in the top three.  These are just the highlights of the wins in the show ring, but there were many more.

Our Nubian foundation herd sire was CH Kastdemur’s Excaliber.  He has an outstanding pedigree.  Our Nubian herd sires are *B Willow Run Aesop Seraglio son of GCH Willow Run Liam Sehaptin 2003 & 2004 Reserve National Champion.  Our jr herd sire is Kastdemur's AlexanderWe also will use Artificial Insemination this year.

This is just a few of the highlights and we would like to thank you for taking our herd into consideration for adding our genetics into your herd.  If you have any questions feel free to ask; we love to talk and listen to questions.

Thank you,

Dennis, Robin, Rachael, Rebekah & Isaac John Herrell

4-H Reports by Rachael Herrell

Rachael wrote this report as a Veterinary Science Project. It has helped us tremendously with our goat health. We now raise all our animals on a CAE prevention program. We have wonderful success with the prevention program.
