French Alpines
Isaac John, Rebekah, and Dennis at Rachael's Wedding in 2007
Isaac John loves to play baseball, basketball, football, and shoot archery almost as much as showing goats:) He started public school this year at Maconaquah Middle School. He was the jet on the football team. He was also one of the captains of the team. He is a very busy young man. He is now playing basketball at school and on another league. Then wrestling will begin. Isaac decided to sell the Alpines here at IR-Ranch except for Sylvia and 'Nough Said. He helps his sister with the Nubians, but he is so busy with his sports that he doesn't have much time for the goats. He is quite the showman while winning his showmanship division his second year at the Indiana State Fair. He also exhibited the Best Doe in Show at the State Fair that year. He sold his milk for $4300.
The French Alpine goats started out as our oldest daughter's, Rachael, 4-H project. The goats have taken her traveling and have been an important educational benefit to her. She is now a Microbiology professor at IVY Tech State College while still furthering her education at Indiana University. Rachael now resides in Lafayette with her husband, Matthew. Their foundation animals were obtained from Sanstorm and Hill N Holler herds. I would like to thank Marianne Sans and Jane Hunt for letting us purchase these animals. These are our herd sires: *B IR-Ranch Mystic Stealth and *B Willow Run Romulous Rafferty along with A/I . All kids are raised on a CAE prevention program all animals over a year old are tested annually. At the 2007 Indiana State Fair Open and 4H Show Electra was GCH with Best Udder. Our Nubians also did very well. Click on name to go into their personal page, which also tells the planned breedings.
